IT'S HAPPENING NOW!
By Jerry Roberts, Executive Director, National Lighthouse Museum
As we enter into 2005 things have truly begun to take shape on all fronts. The pier has been structurally renovated and is ready to welcome the public and the return of the national landmark vessel the Nantucket lightship. The Nantucket is wintering in Oyster Bay Long Island where volunteers continue to prepare it for future voyages of adventure. Meanwhile. building number 11 is now almost ready for us to move into as soon as we raise the funds needed for exhibits. With building 11 open as a visitor center and development office, we can concentrate on finishing the restoration of the much larger building number 10 which will eventually open as the actual National Lighthouse Museum. While all this is going on we are working to build our national membership and move forward into this New Year with renewed optimism and resolve.
